We are dedicated to support individuals with albinism

In many African countries, people with albinism face social exclusion, discrimination and violence. Our mission is to improve the lives of those with albinism by raising awareness, providing essential care, and creating safe spaces for them to thrive.

Here’s how we can help

Common issues: Violance & Isolation

Problem:

TARGETED VIOLENCE

Kidnappings, mutilations, and killings driven by ritualistic beliefs. Many children are at risk of harm and often face neglect or abuse.

SOCIAL ISOLATION

Stigmatization within families and communities.

VISUAL IMPAIRMENT

Most individuals with albinism have low vision, and educational systems often fail to accommodate this.

POVERTY

Lack of job opportunities due to discrimination and limited education.

Solution: providing shelter

unity for albinism

SHELTER & PROTECTION

We work closely with the Mary Mother of God A local Save House in Lamadi, Tanzania.

FOOD

This Save House takes care of more than 100 children with albinism. Many of these children were abandoned by their families, survived attacks, or come from impoverished backgrounds with no safe home to return to.

MEDICAL CARE

They finally receive the care and opportunities they deserve.

FEELING OF SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE

Children can be children and play together, despite their special needs. Being surrounded by other children with albinism strengthens their social bonds, builds confidence, and helps them feel accepted and understood. In a supportive environment, they can thrive, learn, and simply enjoy being kids.

98% of persons with albinism die before the age of 40, often due to preventable causes like skin cancer and lack of medical care.

No melanin, Sun damage, Skin cancer

Increased vulnerability without any protection

Albinism is a genetic condition characterized by little or no production of melanin, the pigment responsible for coloring skin, hair, and eyes. This results in very light skin and increased vulnerability to sun damage and vision problems.

Sunscreen protects and saves lives!

One container full of sunscreen!

We aim to raise sufficient funds each year to send at least one container of sunscreen to Africa. These creams are essential for protecting the skin of people with albinism from skin cancer. We collaborate with the Albinism Foundation in Africa, which receives sunscreen donations from various brands.

“To protect 1 child with Albinism against skin cancer with sunscreen will cost just €2,89”

Social isolation

FORMS OF DISCRIMINATION

Over 90% of people with albinism in parts of Africa report experiencing discrimination.

CULTURAL BELIEFS

In some regions, it is believed that the body parts of people with albinism bring wealth or luck when used in witchcraft rituals.

SOCIAL EXCLUSION

Many are isolated from community life, denied access to education and employment.
